Two students of a University in Kabankalan have been accused of killing their newborn baby on Saturday, July 25, 2015.
Based on the investigation, the baby was delivered in the boarding house of the female student assisted by her acting midwife a.k.a her "boyfriend" around 11 in the evening. Her boyfriend then throw the newly born baby in a banana plantation but later on, confess to her landlady because his girlfriend started to bleed.
The landlady immediately searched the baby together with the school guard, rushed to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital, where the baby was declared dead on arrival.
Superintendent German Garbosa, chief of Kabankalan City police, said the female student is under hospital arrest at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital while her boyfriend is detained in the police station.
